La Fachada a la Calle ~ The Street Front ;void(0)) Esta es la Fachada a la Calle, La AVENIDA SIMEON CAÑAS, primera y unica via peatonal de la Ciudad de Guatemala. La Calzada Simeón Cañas concecta EL PARQUE DE JOCOTENANGO CON EL HIPODROMO DEL NORTE, donde estan ubicados EL PARQUE MINERVA Y EL MAPA EN RELIEVE y EL PRIMER Y PRINCIPAL ESTADIO DE BEISBOL DE GUATEMALA, EL "TRAPO" TORREBIARTE. [][][][][][][][] This is the street front to the "AVENIDA SIMEON CAÑAS", first and only pedestriab walkway in Ciudad de Guatemala. The "Calzada Simeón Cañas" connets PARQUE DE JOCOTENANGO with EL HIPODROMO DEL NORTE, where you can find the PARQUE MINERVA and EL MAPA EN RELIEVE (The Map of all Guatemala in Relief, scale 1/10,000) and the First and Main Base-ball field in Guatemala The ESTADIO DE BEIS BALL DE GUATEMALA, called "TRAPO" TORREBIARTE.  ;void(0)) Justo bajo el Farol restaurado, esta LA BANCA DE LOS CABALLEROS, y es que como cosa interesante, y como no se permite el ingreso de Caballeros a CASA KATHARINA - por asuntos de orden moral y reputacion -, en ella se sientan, pacientemente todos y cada uno de los caballeros que cortejan a algunas de nuestras educadas huespedes. Muchos "pretendientes" se han hecho amigos en esta banca, y los pedazos de mas de un corazon han sido recogidos de ella... mas de una vez. Una vez(2005), nuestra Ama de Llaves, encontro este breve poema, no sabemos hasta el momento que pretendiente lo ha dejado en la Banca de Los Caballeros: "A veces se quiere, sin ser querido; Muchas veces mas se nos quiere, sin que lo queramos. Pero lo realmente que mas nos duele a todos, es amar, sin ser amados" Hasta el dia y hora de hoy, ninguna de nuestra selectas huespedes lo reclama. ¿ Quien sera el autor de este breve poema?

La Entrada ~ The foyer ;void(0)) Esta es la Puerta Principal de CASA KATHARINA. El hermoso farol llevo mas de 300 horas de trabajo de restauracion. [][][][][][] This is the Main Gate at CASA KATHARINA. The Wonderfull lamp you see here, took more than 300 hours of restauration work.  Esta es la Sala de CASA KATHARINA. Aqui hay television nacional, y muchas de las huespedes, aunque tienen TV en sus habitaciones y suites, se reunen a ver LA NOVELA... y claro, discutir lo malo que son las "Malas" y lo mucho que sufre "La Buena" de la Novela... La verdad, "nos divertimos mucho aqui..." [][][][][][] This is the Living room of CASA KATHARINA. Here you can watch Guatemalan TV, and many of our lady guests, even do they have their own TV at their Rooms and Suites, meet here to watch "LA NOVELA" (The soap opera of the moment...) ... and of course, talk about how evil are the "Malas (the evil actresses)" and how much cries and suffers "La Buena (the good lady and heroin)" de la Novela... In fact, "we ladies have great times here..." ;void(0)) Este es el Gran Corredor, con más de 30mts de paso, y concecta a todas las habitaciones con el Patio Interior, la cocina colectiva y el Jardin de la Banca del Besito. Al fondo se ve EL GRAN ESPEJO, con mas de 1.80mts de alto y mas de 1.50mts. de ancho. [][][][][] This is the Great Hall Way. it is over 30mts long (over 90feet, that it...) It connects all the rooms with Inner court, the collective kitchen and the Garden where the "Banca del Besito - bench of the kiss" is at. At the end, you will find "El Gran Espejo - the great mirror - 1.80 mts tall and 1,50mts wide ( over 6 feet tall and 4.5 feet wide that is...pretty big...ain´t?) ;void(0)) Al final del Gran Corredor, esta el GRAN ESPEJO, en el, puedes ver en su reflejo lo luminoso y espacioso que el interior de CASA KATHARINA. Puedes ver parte del Patio Interior. Al lado del espejo esta la entrada a la cocina colectiva. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] At the end of the GREAT HALL WAY, is the Great Mirror. On the relfection you can see how spacious and lumminous is the inside of CASA KATHARINA. You can also see part of the INNER COURT. Al lado del espejo esta la entrada a la cocina colectiva.  El PATIO INTERIOR esta comodamente arreglado en la epoca seca, para funcionar como area de estudio y esparcimiento. Sus jardines laterales, crecen y crecen, con flores de todos colores... [][][][][][] This is the INNER COURT, and it is comfortably arranged to function as a relaxing hall for study during our Dry Months in Guatemala - octuber to may +/- tha is...- The side garden are growing and growing, with lotsof coulour full flowers. La Mini Suite * The Mini Suite ;void(0)) Esta es la MINI SUITE -24mts cuadrados- COLONIA, en honor a esta hermosa Ciudad Alemana. En esta foto puedes ver el precioso ventanal (mas de 1.80mts de alto) en madera de caoba de los 1920s y el trabajo artesanal de los vidrios quemado al acido. Tambien puedes apreciar la pintura de A. MUCHA que adorna esta luminosa habitacion. [][][][][][][][] This is the MINI SUITE COLONIA -Cologne in English-, which is 24 square meters in space (that is over 72 square feet, not small, not huge...mini suite that is... ) in honour to this beautiful German City. In this picture you can clearly appreciate the large (over 1.80mts...6ft tall that is...) Mohagony wood window frame from the 1920s and the HAND ETCHED glass windows. You can also enjoy the view of the A. Is quite comfortable and painted in Pink like all bathroms at CASA KATHARINA, decorated with Blue accents. ;void(0)) Esta es la COCINETA ( La "Kichenet" para las "agringadas".... ) de la MINI SUITE COLONIA, en ella encontraras, cubiertos y platos para 2 personas, así como un horno tostador, y un Micro Hondas. Además hay muchísimo espacio en el gabinete para tu comida y tus bebidas. Ideal para desayunar algo ligero, o bien cenar...todo en la tranquilidad y privacidad de tu Mini Suite. Al fondo una Ilustracion de Alphonse MUCHA, Las Estaciones. [][][][][][][][][][][] This is the Berlin Suite bedroom area; The suite offers more than 45 mts² (Over 135square feet that is...). You can see the bed, and "Make up Set" locally called "LA MARQUESA (how do you call it at home?) Esta pintado en ROSA, como todos los baños de CASA KATHARINA... con acentos ROSA... lo sentimos mucho, pero a las propietarias (Schoschi & Sophia ) LES GUSTA EL ROSA! La Habitación ~ The room ;void(0)) Esta es la Habitación HEIDELBERG, es muy luminosa por la tarde. Su ventana da al Jardin de la Banca del Besito. Esta dedicada a la Ciudad Universitaria Alemana del mismo nombre. [][][][][][] This is the HEIDELBERG room, is quite luminous, specially in the afternoons. Its window faces the inner garden where the "Banca del Besito -bench of the kiss-" is at. This room is dedicated to the German Universitarian city of the Same Name.  Esta es la vista del Jardin Interior que se ve desde la ventana de la habitacion HEIDELBERG. En CASA KATHARINA, esta prohibido el ingreso de Caballeros, por ese motivo, este Jardin con la banquita, es uno de los lugares favoritos para despedirse despues de una romántica noche en el Centro Historico, o la practica mas comun de muchas de nuestras selectas damas huespedes: Una cita de Jogging o de simple andar de la mano en la Simeon Cañas... Aqui solo las flores son testigos de los más dulces momentos... [][][][][][] This is the view from the inner garden from the room HEIDELBERG. At CASA KATHARINA, it is forbidden to have Gentlemen as visitors. Due to this fact, this garden with the little bench for 2, is one of the favourite places to say farewell after a romantic evenning at the Centro Historico, or the most common date this day by our lady guests (as far as we can see from our administrative desks...): A Jogging Date or a simple promenade at the Simeon Cañas... La Habitaciónõ The room ;void(0)) Esta habitacion esta dedicada a la Ciudad Ferial de Alemania. En Hannover, hay un WALK IN CLOSET, ademas de un armario. Hannover ofrece su propio baño a la dama huespede que lo ocupa. ES LA HABITACION MAS ACCESIBLE ECONOMICAMENTE DE CASA KATHARINA, por ende tiene muchisima demanda. Reserva con bastante tiempo de antelación. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] This is the ONLY ROOM THAT CAN BE TURNED INTO A DOUBLE (Only upon prepaid requests. Some restrictions apply) AT CASA KATHARINA. It is dedicated to the Fair Town of Germany. In Hannover, we offer a large WALK IN CLOSET, and as it was not enough an extra closet. Hannover can offer up to TWO COMFORTABLE BEDS and its own private bath to be shared by the lady guests stayind there. IT IS THE MOST AFFORDABLE ROOM IN CASA KATHARINA ANY WAY, therefore is highly requested. Esta decorada con cuadros antiguos de Alemania... Y claro, aqui estan tambien las refrigeradoras, o frigorificos, o como quiera que les digas... ¡ Buen Provecho !
